On March 3rd, 2004 balloons were released to heaven to be with our Angel. The above verse was attached along with Kristen's senior picture to her balloons. The ballons were released by family and friends living in, Illinois, Ohio, Texas, Michigan & California. Jerry and I stood quietly on the deck watching as our angel took our gifts of love sent to her through the clouds into heaven.

Today is December 14th, 2005 and KD's 2nd Heavenly Birthday balloon released from Aunt Deb in Toledo made its way home to Bloomington, Illinois. There are so many special people in this world that have touched our hearts, but this man is so very special to have returned this home to us. The interesting thing is that his brothers name where he was hunting is "Douglas" and his wife's name is "Lavonia", Douglas like our last name and her name so close to "Donia". Was there a reason that her balloon was found here?
The balloon was received today, still inflated.

The letter received:
To the Douglas Family
Enclosed is a balloon that I found while deer hunting on my brother's property in Pittsford Township, Hillsdale County, Michigan, located about 4 miles southwest of Hudson, Michigan. The day was windy and cold, about 25, with roughly 2 inches of snow from the previous evening on the ground. On December 4, 2005, about 8:00 a.m. as I got out of my truck and started walking to my hunting spot, I noticed something bright red just above the ground caught in the trees of the fence row. I saw the fully inflated balloon with a lot of snow on it. When I brushed off the snow, it became airborne. As I still held the ribbon, I could see notes on it. I then took it to my truck for safekeeping. Later when I returned to my truck and opened the tailgate (having forgotten about the balloon), the balloon came out of the truck and took off. I was lucky to grab at the end of the ribbon as it was soaring almost out of reach.
When I returned home, I brought the balloon in so that I could return it. I am enclosing some maps indicating about where I found. This balloon may have traveled farther if it had not been through a snowstorm. I am assuming that "Aunt Deb" launched this from Toledo, Ohio, which is approximately 50 miles southeast of where I found it.
Peace and comfort to your family

2 balloons to go to heaven to be with you KD, for the 2 years that you have been away.
These balloons are still at home. Why? Selfishness, loneliness, and just plain not wanting to let go!
Kristen's 3rd Heavenly Angel Day
December 3rd, 2006
3 red balloons, one for each heavenly year that you have been gone. We love you angel!

The candle burns throught out the day to let you know dearest little angel that we are always remembering you! You will forever be in our hearts!

This beautiful flower and card arrived at my work from Kristen's friend Cat. How much Cat thinks of her friend and now her guardian angel is a friendship that will be everlasting. It warms our hearts to know that her friends still hold her close in their hearts. Thank you so much Cat!
